Return of the Roadster

The Morgan Roadster is back, after being absent from the U.S. market since early 2006, when it became too complicated for the car’s boutique British builder to comply with this country’s federal crash standards. Just don’t call the new car a Morgan; it is the Roadster ’65.
The family-owned Morgan Motor Company of Malvern Link, Worcestershire, England, has been in business since 1910. Its vehicles are charming reminders that appealing design, simple but proven engineering principles, and the virtues of handcra…

Vallicelli and Co., the yacht will feature a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. To meet the owner’s speed goals, the …

Restoring the Recently Discovered 1966 Ford Mk I GT40

Tom Shaughnessy is an automotive treasure hunter of sorts. He has discovered and restored numerous vintage Ferraris and other classic cars, many of them former racecars. He recently secured from a cluttered garage in northern Los Angeles a 1966 Ford Mk I GT40 (chassis P/1067). With the help of Mark Allian, a longtime friend and something of a human encyclopedia on GT40s—who has previously revived other GT40s, including chassis 1009 and 1017 and an XGT2—Shaughnessy is currently bringing his recent find back to …

In 1914, the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc along the waterfront in Cap d’Antibes, France, created its now famous Eden-Roc Pavilion seawater swimming pool. The historic hotel—which inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tender Is the Night and was a hangout for Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, and many other artists—is now celebrating the Pavilion’s 100th anniversary with a lineup of festivities from May through September. On May 9, a gala banquet will kick off the four-month bash with a feast to include signature dishes by chefs …

Your NYC Cinco De Mayo Playbook

Back in 2006, before I called New York City home, I was here for a visit and on a quest for the perfect margarita. The much-lauded La Esquina had just opened its doors, and I was determined to find a way in. As I learned, gaining entrance to the Mexican speakeasy in Nolita first required the discovery of its well-hidden main door. From there, thirsty pilgrims needed to descend a set of stairs that took them beneath a corner taco stand and then traverse a busy kitchen. Yes, it required some effort, but the hous…

Wider Yachts Reveals Its Latest Concept Developments

In the four years since its founding, Wider Yachts has made a name for itself by showcasing innovative concepts that push the envelope of technical boat and yacht design. Thus far, the only one of those concepts to actually hit water is the highly inventive Wider 42 weekend cruiser, which launched in 2011; but the company is steadily progressing on the construction of its first megayacht, the Wider 150, and it debuted two forthcoming models at the Miami International Boat Show earlier this year.
